In 2019/20 we started our own work experience programme for our services uses to learn lift skills and to get them more independent in life!

Background:

One of our ex service users Mr N, got a voluntary job in Barnardo's in Maghull Central Square. He worked their for a year and then got a paid job in the National Museums in Liverpool. This was his dream job and he wouldn't have achieved it if it wasn't for the Sefton Autism Support hubs or as we was know as then The Maghull Autism Support Service! Mr N. is our biggest achiever, We are so proud of him.

Work experience allows our service users to gain insight into a career and informs their decision making.  Students are often convinced they have found their career of choice only to complete a work experience placement in that field and realise it is not for them.  Equally, for many the work experience placement can help to confirm that it is the right career option for them.
